How to Create a Survey with Survey Monkey
Surveys are wonderful tool for business owners. They allow you to directly ask your customers and prospects what their needs are. This information can help you create products, redesign your website, change your customer service department and make a number of business-building changes.
One of the most popular tools to create surveys is a service called Survey Monkey. There are two options. You can sign up for free or you can sign up for a paid membership.
There are three different membership levels: select, gold, and platinum. Each level upgrade offers a few additional features. The basic free plan offers ten questions per survey and 100 responses per service. If you want to survey more than 100 people, you will want to step up to the next level which offers unlimited questions and unlimited responses.
So let’s take a look at how to create a survey with Survey Monkey:
#1 Register and create an account. Simply enter your name, username, password and email address.
#2 Once you’ve registered, the next step is to begin creating your survey. Select the category for your survey. The categories range from demographics to just for fun. You’ll also choose your survey template here. The templates are essentially background colors. They’re simple and uncomplicated.
#3 Choose Your Survey Title
If you haven’t already given your survey a title, you can now do that. You can also edit an existing title. You can also upload your logo for an additional fee.
#4 Add Questions
Now it’s time to start adding your questions. There are a number of different question types to choose from. For example, you might decide to use ranking questions and ask your respondents to choose from a scale of 1-10. You might have open ended questions or multiple choice questions. You decide which format is best for your goals and audience.
Once you choose a question type, you can then begin adding your questions. After you enter a question you’ll then be asked to enter your answer options.
#5 Save and Send
Once you’ve finished entering your questions and answers, save your survey. Preview it to make sure it is grammatically correct and there are no spelling errors. Read it for clarity to make sure the questions are easily understood. Then send your survey.
There are a number of ways you can send your survey. You can embed the code on your blog. You can send a link to the survey. You can invite people to respond and you can add it to your Facebook page.
Survey Monkey is an easy tool to use and a great way to learn more about your customers and prospects. Oh, and don’t forget to analyze the results and use them to build your business.
